처음엔 목소리가 마음에 들어 호기심에 좀 더 파 보니 돌맹이가 아니라 고인돌이 들어 있네요.
일단 제목인 비트호텔은 미국의 비트세대(1950~60년대)들의 기성세대의 압력을 피해 도망간
파리의 13등급 호텔(제일 밑) 인데, 미국의 유명한 시인인 알렌 긴즈버그가 그의 동반자와 함께
이곳에 묵었고, 그외의 시인묵객들이 이 호텔의 투숙자 였습니다.
그래서 이 호텔은 시적이며 철학적 사유의 장이 될 수 밖에 없었고 싱어송 라이터인 알란 타일러는
이 음악에서 비트호텔의 분위기를 그 나름대로의 서사로 전달해 주고 있는 것 같습니다.
동명의 다큐멘터리 영화도 있는데 이 음악과 관련이 있는지는 확실치 않네요. 국내 상영된 바가 없어서.
물론 이 음악과 다큐는 같은 비트호텔을 이야기 하는 것은 맞습니다.
